Teacher Appreciation Week

It's Teacher Appreciation week here in Texas. I'm not sure if it's nationwide, but it should be. I'm the coordinator for t.a. at HRH's preschool. Basically, I make sure the students and parents keep the teachers knee deep in snacks, gift cards, flowers, etc., all week. Right now, I'm mid-40 bag monogramming. The picture is horrid for some reason, but you get the gist of it:

These bags are really big and bulky, so I have to sit in the dining/sewing (LOL) room while they stitch out, and at 30 minutes a pop, I have LOTS of free time for sewing! I've gotten twirl skirts, pillowcase-ish dresses, ankle-length beach skirts done. SO exciting! And I've had this fabric :

for a few months now. I just love love love it. It's Heather Ross, of course. I'd LOVE to get my hands on some of her goldfish in the bags, too, lol. Anyway, I never could decid what to do with it, b/c I didn't have enough to make both of the girls little sundresses, so today, I finally bit the bullet and made this for the Hurricane:

I think I'll use the rest and make HRH a twirl skirt, she has an orange shirt I can do something with surely! Maybe tonight while I'm finishing up these bags (God willing). We'll see!

I love that dress! I sew on a very limited basis, but would love to learn more skills one day! Did you teach yourself??

I want to order one of everything you make! Seriously.

BTW: is it too much to do Emerie's nap mat. I can seriously look for one online, Juli. it will not hurt my feelings. I don't want you to be overwhelmed with everyone's "wants."

Just let me know

Ang, no, after this week, I'll be making Emerie's :) It will only take me about an hour once I find her perfect fabrics!! I'm looking forward to it, I think it's going to be darling.

Flo, I started out quilting, then once I had the girls, I would see something cute at a craft fair or somewhere, like a t-shirt dress, etc., and think "I could make that, right?" There are TONS of online tutorials for easy little things, I'll try to post a few today during a monogramming break :)

OMgosh, your stuff is always so cute Juli! I am super jealous, as all I can do is sew on a button! Those bags are just darling, the teachers will LOVE them.
